Tamarah de Haan

Sociologist & Postcolonial Student,

University of Amsterdam & Utrecht University

Amsterdam, Netherlands 🇳🇱

Tamarah de Haan (she/her) was born in a relatively white neighborhood in Almere to a Jamaican mother and a Dutch father and had to navigate the borders of how identities are structured from quite a young age. Studying sociology and Postcolonial studies have helped her have a better understanding of how ‘today’ came to be. In her writing, Tamarah mainly focus on decolonial practices to imagine other forms of Being through relating. She aims to do this in language that is perceived as digestible so relating (to words & practices) becomes as accessible as possibly can.
