Charlene Austin (she/her) is a PR & Communications Strategist for the art world. Born and raised in the Netherlands to Ghanian parents, she grew up immersed in a creative palette of people and cultures which made her develop an artistic view, a passion for aesthetics, and a love of storytelling. For 10 years Austin worked in advertising agencies, art institutions and lifestyle brands such as TBWA, …,staat and Soho House, and currently Het HEM, giving a voice and an artistic viewpoint to many top brands and companies. As both a lover and collector of art, particularly African diasporic creations, she has, again, seamlessly blended her work and her passion together to co-found Okra Agency, an independent communications agency whose focus is on amplifying the creative voices of BIPOC communities.
